I created this fillable form in LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2.1. (It came bundled with Adobe Acrobat Pro 9) I am trying to make the file as small as possible and as efficient as possible before putting it on our website for download.

Order of events: Using Acrobat Pro 9 I was able to Reduce the file size, which made it smaller. I was able to Examine the Document and remove Metadata, keep form fields, and that made it smaller yet. Now I want to run the preflight to make sure all is working smoothly. The only problem is when I try to run the preflight I get an error message that says, "Preflight is unable to perform any fixups on this document as its author did not grant the necessary permissions. Permissions can be restricted by encryption or digital signatures."

I have NOT gone to the Advanced Menu > Extend Features in Adobe Reader. I will do that last on a renamed saved copy of my document. The other thing I noticed when the preflight screen is open: Online publishing (optimize for quality) and Online publishing (optimize for size) are both grayed out. (Probably because of the permissions thing?)

Any helpful hints are much appreciated. :-)
