Shaded Grey Triangle appearing on Second PDF opened

Here is the Scenario:

Platform: Windows XP & Adobe Reader 9.3 (Has been happening since Reader 8)

Troubleshooting So Far:

• Open the first PDF... Looks fine

• Open Second PDF... Large Grey Triangle (lower left of page covering just under half of the page)

• Open these 2 documents on another computer, views perfectly.

• Open the Same 2 documents in revese order and the second one has the issue.

• Changed the resolution on the monitor to make sure it was not a video card Driver issue. Used 1024x768, 1600x1200 & 1280x1024... just to rule this possibility out.

• When printing the PDF, it comes out perfectly (no grey areas) even though you can't read it on the screen.

• This issue will clear up with an uninstall and reinstall, but will surface again within a few weeks. I am tired of reinstalling.

Additional Information The triangle area is not a solid grey area... it consists of shaded lines seperated by white space that you can read the text behind... and if you scroll using the mouse scroll button the grey lines change thickness and position within this triangle shaped area.

Can anyone please tell me what is causing this and how I could possibly resolve this issue. It is only happening on one PC in our whole organization and it has to be one of the managers who needs to open multiple PDF Docs at one time... go figure...

Thank you for any help on this issue

I received an answer from BAlheit on Planet PDF Forum that solved my issue...

Turn off the graphics acceleration in the preferences of Adobe Reader.

SOLUTION: By unchecking the 2D rendering options under Preferences - Page Display my problem was resolved.

Thanks again,

John
