I am using Windows 7 and I have Adobe Reader installed. I can see that PDF previews are displayed when I use Windows Explorer. I want to turn them off as they take some time to display.

There is no readily available setting that you can use to turn off this feature. However, there is a solution which involves editing the registry. If this is something you you feel comfortable doing, the instructions are posted here.
